Joie de vivre #Provence

rovence was placed on the long list of places I necessarily wanted to see and every time I was dreaming of a trip to this French province I imagined huge lavender fields, a large purple sea…

As the famous lavender fields bloom in the summer (i.e. from June to August) and we arrived in September, this Provence experience was different from what I imagined.

Provence is among the most popular, appreciated and visited tourist attractions in France. A region in southeastern France, which lies between the Mediterranean, the Rhone Valley, Italy and the Alps.

We were unable to enjoy these violets views, instead we had the opportunity to explore the picturesque streets of the beautiful Grimaud – an oasis of tranquility, where I discovered the true French atmosphere, completely different from any other place I’ve visited so far.

As soon as I arrived in Grimaud, we were surprised to discover the calm atmosphere on the streets of suburban houses with red roofs everywhere and the right atmosphere for wonderful pictures and enjoy spending time with loved ones!

I admit I have not had too much time to explore the area, but Grimaud has managed to surprise us with its old charm and enchanting atmosphere.

I have to remember about the culinary specialties of Provence! If you arrive in Marseille or in any area of Provence find gourmet restaurants. The kitchen here has great Mediterranean influence, with abundant use of vegetables and sea-food . Is a must to try the famous Bouillabaisse soup and not least choose a good glass of wine to accompany your meal when you sit in Provence.

There is no other region of France like you feel in Provence, where time stood still..
